Today there is little ground remaining for them. In captivity they continue to be mismanaged, impacted by abuse and neglect, and displaced by new laws. Zoos continue to micro-manage the living populations, which is adding to the insular effects of inbreeding. Private sectors match mates based on the needs of people and not those of the great cats. According to the National Center for Charitable Statistics, the Tiger Missing Link Foundation (TMLF) is an environmental quality protection agency working to protect our natural resources from abuse, neglect, waste or exploitation and to preserve their availability for future generations.

Tiger Missing Link Foundation is a non-profit, 501-C-3 tax-exempt organization designated by the Internal Revenue Service. The Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 34-1827209. TMLF is an internationally recognized agency with headquarters in Washington D.C. The focus is genetic testing of captive tigers, supporting tiger conservation insitu, creating awareness of the tiger’s plight, and coming to the rescue of tigers, lions, and other big cats in need. The Foundation has been featured in a variety of publications throughout the world.

Tiger Conservation Exsitu (captive support)

The conservation of genetic diversity and elimination of all adverse inbreeding offers the support vital to tiger conservation projects exsitu.

Conservation of the genetic diversity of tigers is being accomplished by convincing wildlife conservation groups, zoos, and private tiger breeders that DNA testing is needed. Our organization has implemented a clearing house (data-base) program of private sector tigers known as the "American Tiger Registry" (ATR). These programs will assist in strengthening the genetic pool of all captive tigers, both in zoos and the private sector, by bringing all tigers and tiger owners together under one umbrella. The genetic identification, proper captive management, and tracking of tigers in captivity is the "Missing Link" to saving the tiger from extinction.

Creating Awareness through Outreach

Press Kit (understanding and delivery)

Our communications plan is to ensure that our key messages are heard and clearly understood by everyone. Within the press kit is a set of materials designed to communicate TMLF's message in detail to reporters and media directors, law enforcement agencies, NGO's and the general public. It should be used to help people gain an understanding of vital components involving our roles, objectives, and goals as well as the insights, associated problems, and identified solutions involving the big cat "industry."

STRIPE Program, Saving Tigers through Rescue Involving Public Education ™ (teaching tiger)

STRIPE is a wildlife educational program that covers habitat destruction, poaching, and the effects of isolated forest patches on tiger populations. STRIPE has been presented throughout the country, giving tiger conservation presentations both to the public and to school age children. This program is on the front lines nationally, involving the latest information on tiger conservation. The program does discourage the ownership of wild animals as pets!

Project E-SCAPE ™- Environmental Science Program (training future conservation leaders)

E-SCAPE, Environmental Science Coalition involving Animals through Public Education is a coalition of agencies involved in an environmental science educational program for students, teachers, and the general public. The E-SCAPE Project consists of four cornerstones and one auxiliary program targeting selected groups. These programs are E-Teach ™, E-Tech ™, E-Venture ™, E-Search ™, and E-Camp ™. Curriculum and activities emphasize multi-disciplinary field-based research projects; specializations in applied technologies, biology , conservation, endangered or threatened species; and wild land interpretation. East Texas is our pilot lab as a test bed representing over 42,000 students and more than 2,300 educators.

On-line (Educational / Resource)

All new on-line educational resources coming soon to all students far and near. Programming will be providing students and teachers access to the most current tiger conservation applications and techniques being applied. Also it will provide a complete and up-to-date library of information about tigers. The programming will have fun activities and Tiger Action Pacs that allow classrooms and schools to take an active role in supporting tigers. The goal of this program is to teach people how to think rather than what to think, allowing for expansion in ways to save the tiger. This on-line resource is an effort to better facilitate the needs of students.

Rescue (compassion and hope)

The third role that is served is the rescue and rehabilitation of big cats who have been abused, neglected, or displaced. This service is performed through the Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge, a division of Tiger Missing Link Foundation. This is some of our toughest work. We strive to make all of the best decisions involving the Great Cats of Tiger Creek. The facility is open to its members, educational partners, and the general public.

Visitation hours to Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge serve 3 distinct roles

Serves as a public inspection of the sanctuary and provides the public with the opportunity to witness the quality of care that the Great Cats of Tiger Creek receive.
Provides the parents of our students the opportunity to serve an active role with their children's projects, thus encouraging family involvement.
Provides the community a vehicle to reach a higher platform of understanding by taking on active roles through offering support for the foundation, its programs, and the Great Cats.

We close the sanctuary on Sundays to allow the Great Cats the privacy that they need and deserve.

Members can also visit the center on-line and view the Great Cats through electronic monitoring systems stationed throughout the park (coming soon).

American Tiger Trust ™ [under development] - an endowment program to help people learn about charitable giving through a will or from an estate. American Tiger Trust solicits gifts for the endowment to provide long-term underwriting for Tiger Missing Link Foundation, its programs, and its wildlife sanctuary known as Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge.
